DESCRIPTION:This Tango Café we want to put a focus on something that we traditionally do at Tango Cafe\, our community potluck dinners. During this moment we all come together before the milonga and share our food with each other. It is at this moment that there is much “gezelligheid”\, we share moments of chit-chat and laughter and really connect with each other. You can contribute by bringing some food and or drinks\, we will make sure to bring plenty of drinks ourselves for the diner. Join our potuck\, sharing is caring 🙂 \nBefore our potluck dinner our members will share their insights of the workings of the dancefloor during a milonga. They will explain to you how to safely and how to comfortably move through the dance floor. What is tactful and what is perhaps not\, and also importantly how to take care of yourself on the dance floor. You learned some tango by now\, now it is time for the real deal with this cosy dance evening. \nThis Tango Café is dedicated to our InDansen Introduction Period and all newcomers. We will start this evening by giving a beginners workshop in which we adjust the level on how many previous workshops the group has attended and give some tips for social dancing. They will give a workshop on Paradas\, Adornos\, and different Resolutions. \nWorkshop theme: Playing with Paradas\, Adornos\, and different Resolutions\nParadas are a magical moment in Tango; a moment in which you have a deep connection between the partners with the music.\nAs a leader you might not know what Parada to choose\, how to strengthen the communication with your partner\, or how to broaden the spectrum of the Resolution vocabulary.\nAnd as a follower you might not know which Adorno to choose\, how to communicate the intention to your partner\, or how to maintain an even deeper connection.\nIn this workshop Silvia and Roberto unveil all the little tips and secrets to answer those questions whilst working with different Paradas\, different Adornos and different Resolutions.\n–> The workshop is suitable if you have at least half a year of experience. DESCRIPTION:Think back to the 1920’s. You’re a young person that wants to go to a party. A dance party\, with booze\, and a lot of fun. You’ve heard rumours of one such party being thrown\, but it’s all very hush-hush. The government cannot know\, or they would shut it down. \n \nLeidance and Blue Suede Shoes bring to you: St. James Ballroom! Join us in this mixed party where we will dance Ballroom\, Argentine Tango\, and Latin dances!\nWe will split the dance floor in two\, so that we can use one room for ‘Latin dances’ and the other for ‘Standard dances’. \nTo make sure everyone will be able to dance to their hearts content on this mixed party\, there will be beginner workshops to get a taste of something you haven’t tasted (danced) yet. Join one of the beginner workshops at the start of the evening to participate in (almost) every dance style! There will be two workshop rounds\, lasting 45 minutes each.\nRound 1: Kizomba and Ballroom Standard\nRound 2: Argentine Tango and Ballroom Latin \nWristbands of different colours will be used to show people which factions you’re in\, i.e. show dance proficiency. \nTickets can be obtained from the Leidance website.
