SUMMARY:St. James Ballroom - Leidance x Blue Suede Shoes
DESCRIPTION:Think back to the 1920’s. You’re a young person that wants to go to a party. A dance party\, with booze\, and a lot of fun. You’ve heard rumours of one such party being thrown\, but it’s all very hush-hush. The government cannot know\, or they would shut it down. \n \nLeidance and Blue Suede Shoes bring to you: St. James Ballroom! Join us in this mixed party where we will dance Ballroom\, Argentine Tango\, and Latin dances!\nWe will split the dance floor in two\, so that we can use one room for ‘Latin dances’ and the other for ‘Standard dances’. \nTo make sure everyone will be able to dance to their hearts content on this mixed party\, there will be beginner workshops to get a taste of something you haven’t tasted (danced) yet. Join one of the beginner workshops at the start of the evening to participate in (almost) every dance style! There will be two workshop rounds\, lasting 45 minutes each.\nRound 1: Kizomba and Ballroom Standard\nRound 2: Argentine Tango and Ballroom Latin \nWristbands of different colours will be used to show people which factions you’re in\, i.e. show dance proficiency. \nTickets can be obtained from the Leidance website. Buying a ticket online will get you the password to enter the party. We can’t just go admitting everybody now can we? Forgot to do so? You can still buy a ticket at the door\, but you have to get the password from an insider. We need to know if we can trust you! \nTheme: Prohibition period / St. James Ballroom \nNeed some inspiration for an outfit? SUMMARY:Tango Bootcamp - Guidance in the posture and in the embrace for a beautiful connection
DESCRIPTION:We all know the importance of connecting with your partner during dancing. We are sometimes very busy within our heads with our steps that we lose the connection. We all like nice and fancy figures\, but we can’t deny the importance of keeping a good connection with our dancing partner. That is why we have invited Silvia to help guide us through the fundamentals of our posture and our embrace so we can achieve a beautiful connection. With eye to personal attention while keeping an overview of the entire class\, Silvia will make sure that everyone gets what they need. She will take us through individual exercises about our posture and embrace\, while later introducing exercises that can be done in couples to practise our connection. \nFor this bootcamp we recommend that you have fully finished at least 1 course in Tango to make sure that you get the most out of this bootcamp. \nYou can sign-up to this bootcamp individually\, but it is also possible to sign-up as a couple for those who are only comfortable with dancing with their dance partner. There is a limit of 16 participants for the Tango Bootcamp. \nTopics of the bootcamp:\nPosture\, Embrace & Connection \nSchedule:\n13:45 – 14:00   Doors Open\n14:00 – 16:00   Bootcamp \nPrices:\n€10 (members) / €15 (non-members) \nLocation:\nLijm & Cultuur\, Main Building\, Third Floor

SUMMARY:Dance Dance Party
DESCRIPTION:We couldn’t get the Dance Dance Party organized at X in time\, so it had to be cancelled. However\, we plan on doing it February instead! \nAfter a year of only busting a move and improving our groove at home it’s time for some action on a real dance floor. Come show off your freestyle dance moves on the music of your choice. The style does not matter from our own styles to ballet or hip hop as long as you come and bring it. \nWe will start the evening with a hip hop dance workshop by D.S.D.A. Dynamic to loosen up and to get into the groove. \nAs this is not a ballroom party\, nor a tango party\, but a dance party. Every style of dancing can be done. Furthermore\, the guests decide which music is played. Every 15 minutes\, a different style will be played\, and the guest can vote using their phones! So come mix your own dance party and just dance.
