Book a Workshop

If you have an event coming up and you are looking for something a bit different to entertain your guests, why not teach them some beautiful dance moves?

Blue Suede Shoes offers a variety of dance workshops through which our dancers teach you the main elements of dancing and guide the participants through the steps.

We offer workshops in Lindy Hop, Argentine Tango and Ballroom dances. Ballroom dances are divided into two main categories: International Standard and International Latin. We offer workshops on Slow Waltz and Quickstep from the standard category, and Cha Cha and Jive from ballroom Latin dances. More information on the dance styles can be found below.

Our beginner dance workshop consists of a dance lesson of one or two dance styles of your choice, each of which takes 45 minutes. In the workshop, participants will get an introduction to characteristics of dancing, such as proper dance posture, musicality (timing), dance hold and a set of basic dance steps for beginners.

Lindy Hop

originates from the Afro-american community in the US and can be described as a playful dance with energetic movements danced to swing (jazz) music

Cha Cha

is one of the most famous Latin dances originated in Cuba. It is an energetic dance with many hip and body actions to give it a Latin look. Cha Cha can be danced to modern pop music as well as Latin music.

Argentine tango

is a passionate and expressive dance with close connection, intricate footwork and dramatic movements danced to traditional tango music.

Slow Waltz

(also referred to as English waltz) is an elegant, graceful dance with slow steps. It is best described as smooth rise and fall and sway movements through light music.

Jive

is known as a rhythmic, lively dance style consisting of kicks, flicks and plenty of knee lifting on swing music.

Quickstep

is a joyful dance with fast-paced steps accompanied by upbeat music.
