Argentine Tango classes

In Q1 of 2026/2027, Blue Suede Shoes organises Argentine Tango classes for its members with Lucía and Louis at X. You will learn to improve your dancing technique, such as musicality, posture and steps and gain knowledge on the culture of the Tango, including prominent orchestras and the evolution of the dance. The class is aimed at dancers with at least some basic prior experience, in Tango or any other dance style.

You don’t need a partner to join. Since Argentine Tango is a social dance, you frequently switch partners during class. In this sign-up form, you get the chance to sign up as a leader or a follower, but you will also switch roles during the class.

Ballroom technique classes

DSDA Blue Suede Shoes is organising its own beginner classes in Ballroom & Latin, perfect for anyone who is completely new to dancing and wants to build a strong foundation. Ballroom will be taught by Matthijs and Julia, and Latin will be taught by Zef and Larissa.

We’ll also be offering technique classes for those who want to improve their posture, footwork, musicality and overall dancing skills. Before joining technique classes we expect you to know at least the basics in all 5 dances per dance style and understand the level is for intermediate and above. Signing up with a partner is not required but encouraged since spots are limited and to encourage balance between leaders and followers!

Try-Out Classes
If you are interested in trying out first and/or are not sure which level suits you best, just pass by during the try-outs on the 30th of September (Standard) and 14th of October (Latin) and let us know at ballroom@dsda.nl.

Practice
Every week after the technique classes, there will be space to practice for all levels. The practice sessions will start at 20:15 (part of the floor) and 21:15 (entire floor) and last until 23:00. All practices take place at Het Voorhuis in Delft.

Lindy Hop classes

Do you want to learn how to swing dance like the stars of the 1930s and 40s? Join our
enthusiastic teachers for Lindy Hop classes this quarter and discover the joy of this energetic
and playful dance style. We offer three courses: Beginners (level 1) and Intermediate (levels
2 and 3), suitable for different levels of experience.

Beginners (level 1)
This class is offered every quarter and will always cover (roughly) the same topics: the complete basics. This includes learning the basic steps and some simple moves, which may differ a little every quarter.. This class is suitable for people who have never danced Lindy Hop or any other dance style before. After taking this class you will be ready to start dancing on the social dance floor!

Intermediate (level 2)
This level includes some more advanced moves, while mainly focusing on technique. This level is for dancers who want to expand their Lindy repertoire and further improve their dancing skills. You will gradually build up more complex footwork and stylizations from the basics. New swing rhythms and partner communication will also be covered. This class will cover different topics every block, so this class can and should be taken multiple times!

Required: One block of Lindy Hop 0

Lindy solo

Intermediate II (level 3)

If you already have some experience dancing Lindy Hop  at socials, taken multiple Intermediate Level 2 classes, and moves such as the swing-out or the Lindy circle, this class might be the right fit for you! Here we’ll  dive deeper into technique, while also learning quite complex moves and famous routines. Musicality can also be on the schedule. The topics always differ per block, so there’s always something new to be learned!

Required: one block of Lindy Hop 1, one block of Lindy Hop 2 and one block of Charleston 1

If you are still not sure which class is the best fit for you, you can get a better feel for the level and content of the classes during our free try outs! We have a free try out for all three levels at the start of every quarter! If you’re already taking Lindy Hop classes with us, it is recommended to ask our teachers Lucia and Andries what level is right for you.

Sign up now!
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn from our experienced and passionate teachers who will guide you through the history and culture of Lindy Hop, as well as the technical and musical aspects of the dance. Lindy Hop is not only a great way to exercise and have fun, but also to meet new people and make friends. So what are you waiting for? Sign up now and let’s swing!

Sign-ups for the classes close Monday the 7th of September at 23:59.

Please do note that a minimum amount of participants (around 13 people) need to sign up in order for a class to continue.

You don’t need a partner to join!
Since Lindy Hop is a social dance, you frequently switch partners during class. For the beginner classes, it is recommended to stick with a fixed role, either leader or follower (not necessarily gender based). If you are interested in trying out first, attend the try-out class, by sending a message to lindy@dsda.nl or by filling out the interest
form below!

Shortly after the first classes, you will get a payment request. You are required to have paid
before the second lesson.

Other dance classes in Delft

Many of our members follow dancing courses at X TU Delft or at Dance school Wesseling in Delft. These courses teach you the basics of the dances and give you a range of figures and moves you can then vary with in your own creativity.

X TU Delft offers Ballroom classes given by Kaspar van Lierop and Polina Abdoulina.

Every quarter there are new courses open for enrolment.

X TU Delft offers Argentine Tango lessons at a beginner level with Lucía Pellitero in Q1 and Q3 of the academic year.

Dance school Wesseling in Delft also offers a variety of ballroom classes.

Wesseling also offers a tango class taught by Carlos and Mirella, who are European Champions.

They start most of their courses in September, and some start in January. Check their website if you are interested.
