Tango Café January – Argentine Folk Edition

What better way to celebrate the new year than dancing tango? This January, Blue Suede Shoes is hosting a Folk-themed Tango Café. Julia Ozols will give a workshop in chacarera, an Argentine folk dance that originated in the rural province of Santiago del Estero. The chacarera is always danced in a big group, so loads of fun guaranteed!
The workshop will be followed by our usual potluck dinner. Feel free to bring along your favorite food! Afterwards, we open up the dancefloor for our monthly milonga. Our DJ for tonight is the wonderful DJ Elle. Join us for some lovely dances and moments!

Everyone, student or not, from the very advanced to the complete beginner, is welcome to come dance. This evening we also have our Potluck Community Diner, in which we bring some food to share with each other. If you would like to enjoy some drinks and food from our bar, you can either bring something to share or make a donation!

D.S.D.A. Blue Suede Shoes is a dance association by students for everyone passionate about dancing. One of our goals is to encourage new Argentine Tango dancers to start dancing socially. And where better than at our monthly Tango Café. We offer a warm atmosphere and a nice dance floor at a slightly underground location for a great evening.
