Tango Café March 2023 – Let’s Celebrate!

Welcome to our special edition anniversary Tango Café. As special guests join us for this Tango Cafe Vaggelis Hatzopoulos and Marianna Koutandou, tango maestros extraordinaire, all the way
from Greece. In the afternoon they will give us a seminar and, in the evening, they will give a wonderful show.

For the first workshop we recommend at least a semester of tango experience (roughly 6 months). For the second workshop we recommend at least a semester of tango experience
(roughly 6 months) and fundamental understanding of Milonga.

As always we will have our potluck community dinner before the milonga starts. It’s at this moment that we all bring and share some food with each other and get a chance to get to know
each other. You can contribute by bringing some food or some drinks. As the well known phrase goes, sharing is caring!

Workshop 1: Technique of Paradas-Pasadas
Do you followers just pass over the foot of your leader? Do you leaders just place your foot and wait for your follower to pass?
Let’s learn the appropriate way to do paradas and pasadas and create better communication.

Workshop 2: Milonga Funny steps
Why be serious? Enrich your step-vocabulary with steps for milonga that will make your partner and yourself laugh. Let’s have some fun!

Everyone, student or not, from the very advanced to the complete beginner, is welcome to come dance. This evening we also have our Potluck Community Diner, in which we bring some food
to share with each other. If you would like to enjoy some drinks and food from our bar, you can either bring something to share or make a donation!

D.S.D.A. Blue Suede Shoes is a dance association by students for everyone passionate about dancing. One of our goals is to encourage new Argentine Tango dancers to start dancing socially. And where better than at our monthly Tango Café. We offer a warm atmosphere and a nice dance floor at a slightly underground location for a great evening.
